Positioned on the East Side Beltline trail, The James Room is a dark and moody cocktail lounge that is meant to be a place where you can leave your stresses at the door and immerse in the energetic vibrations of our cozy and intimate space. Upon entry, an upscale coffee shop takes your gaze. During the day, the cafe intriguingly offers unique flavors such as sea salt lavender and rosemary sage, or you can opt for a classic vanilla or caramel addition to your joe if you fancy. A few paces away is an inconspicuous door disguised as a bookcase, leading to the speakeasy area equipped with a peculiar mood. The atmosphere feels intimate yet communal and invokes a sense of leisure. The fine leathers and premium seating upgrade your typical lounge visit to an elevated, exclusive treat. Once you get settled, indulge in our savory light bites and carefully hand-crafted cocktail menu...and if you're lucky, maybe even the sounds of a DJ spinning some of your favorite hits.

Came on a Wednesday evening. Great lighting and ambience for a cozy date night. The hostess was polite but only offered high table top seats that were a bit uncomfortable not sure how someone can sit there for a while two hours. We asked change to a couch and they said it was ok but it usually reserved for 3 or more people. So not rhetorical most comfortable date spot for two but overall I enjoyed myself. Very cute place, superior interior designing!

The ambiance is nice. I enjoyed the music, food, and drinks. We had a bad experience with the server bringing my friend a drink she didn't order and we were charged for an extra drink. But other than that we had a great time and I will go back

The setting was great but the attitudes of one of the particular bartenders was terrible. She shouldnt even work with that kind of attitude. (Tall light skinned older woman). The younger guy we had was actually okay. I brought my buddy here who had actually flew in from Africa just a few days ago an ultimately,I felt the need to apologize for the poor experience. I told him thats not how all Atlanta places are like that. Anyways, will not be coming back at all. Drinks were mehh. They placed a lemon in my old fashion instead of orange.

I’ve been to speakeasies all over the US…Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and this place should not be labeled a speakeasy. It’s loud overpriced and crowded. 20% gratuity is unbecoming for marginal service. I had to flag down the server to get another drink and they got 20% gratuity for that. I had to practically beg to be seated on the couch that was unoccupied instead of the small cramped, seating they gave me by the door with a draft and people coming by bumping my date. I’ve tried this place before and didn’t have a good experience. I gave it one more shot, but this is my absolute last 🥃.
