The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Hop Vine again, the food, service and value for money was excellent! The sea bass was the nicest I have had! The waiters were very kind and moved tables for us. Thank you x

Great experience as always. Food is always good, but what makes Hop Vine great is their wonderful staff. Friendly, polite always helpful, they all seem to love their job. Says a lot about the licencee.

Steak pie and gravy far to salty. Replacement arrived just the same, couldn't eat it. The mushy peas were good.

Lovely Tapas style lunch (Pil Pil Prawns, Spare Ribsand Meat Balls (should be on the main menu they were so good). Service was excellent.
