Located in the heart of Lymington, The Highstreet Kitchen offers a relaxed dining experience focusing primarily on local sustainable food, working with dedicated local farmers and producers. The restaurant has been a dream for Gavin Barnes for over a decade and it has now become a shared vision for the whole team.

We had a delicious meal at High Street Kitchen, a really interesting menu which all tasted amazing. Service was great too, they went over & above to make sure we had a great evening. Really nice touch to meet the chef at the end, such a talented cook and so much enthusiasm for his craft & ingredients.

This place is worth the visit, give it a try. The menu isn't huge, which in my book is a massive plus. They go with the food that is local and in season. The wine was great, we were allowed to taste by the bottle options (never experienced that before) - because they just want you to have a nice experience. It is not cheap, but I would rather pay an extra £8 for a main course than eat most of the rubbish you get else where... If you love good food and don't mind splashing out a little, go here. Will be heading back for a roast here, very soon (after having a rubbish roast in Montys Inn, Beaulieu earlier today!)

A very pleasant lunch, well presented and served. Welcoming staff, comfortable space with no intrusive music. Good value.

Fantastic as always. The salmon starter was so much more refined then anywhere else and the venison main course was the best venison I’ve eaten this year. Really enjoyed the banana souffle too. And such a good wine list

We have been a few times now and it’s our favourite place to dine. The food is stunning every time - 5 ⭐️ Highly recommended.

Unfortunately incredibly poor. We’d booked for a Christmas Eve meal expecting at least reasonable quality food and service. The starters were bland and cold, the steaks were practically still walking, and the staff clearly didn’t want to be there and spent the whole time chatting by the kitchen. Not what you expect and won’t be going back.

A beautiful restaurant - relaxing surroundings -wonderful food cooked to order using fresh ingredients hence a small menu. The down side for me is the gratuity charge added at the end. I. Simply don’t like it. I think we should be able to make our own decisions about the tip and it not be an assumption.

Outstanding food, great value for money and very friendly. My 88 year old father who is hard of hearing ,had no usual problems of joining in the conversation. He really enjoyed the occasion. Thank you.
