The mains and tea for two were very good. However, to get service we had to seek out an available staff. My party of 8 would have ordered more drinks had the staff been more attentive. Despite the quality of the food, I won’t be returning nor will I recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family.

I often frequent Caffe Concerto for a sweet treat, as they are reliable in terms of their desserts and service. This one has a really beautiful interior. I had the Apple Crumble Frangipane and the Honey Vanilla Latte. The frangipane was baked well and melt in the mouth. If I had to be picky, the custard could have been warmer, but I will ask for that next time. The service was as good as always.

My friend and I sat there for five hours eating and drinking in lovely surroundings, excellent service and highly recommended!

We loved our afternoon tea overall. We did request vegetarian options, but none were included in the food we received. The server came by very sporadically; we asked for water three times and finally got it when we received our check. We still had a good experience, but the service was lacking.

Had no English breakfast tea left at 2pm in the afternoon!! Surely that is the most popular choice of drink with afternoon tea!?! Could the staff not have popped around the corner to another Caffe Concerto or even gone to the shops, as they are in Central London after all?

I have eaten at a different branch of Cafe Concerto previously which was very good. Sadly the same cannot be said for this branch. We had rebooked but there was no acknowledgment of that. We had 3 different staff members serving us, the initial one was sullen and not engaging and the service was very slow apart from the rapid bringing of the bill at the end. The staff didn’t know what a sherry was, took 10 minutes to come and tell us there was no gin left, this on a Wednesday lunchtime. They brought olives with not enough olives sticks for the group, couldn’t provide mint sauce for the lamb or vinegar for the chips. The lamb was tasteless and swimming in gravy, the spaghetti dish, while tasty had no broad beans in which were listed as part of the dish and the one dessert we ordered was unavajlable, once again it took a long time to tell us this. 2 of the group were vegan and while there were vegan main course options there was not even 1 vegan starter option. V If it hadn’t been for the fact my frail Mother was paying and we had to get to the theatre I would have complained to the manager and refused to pay the service charge at the end. Very poor. Will not be coming here again.

Whilst the afternoon tea was perfectly fine, the low staffing level (2 for about 20 tables) was woeful and is an indictment of the management. There is no way demand from the tables could be met satisfactorily with only two people front of house, and although it was not the fault of the poor front of house team who tried their best, we had to ask repeatedly for almost every element of our order. I cannot recommend the this venue to anyone wanting a pleasant afternoon tea experience. Management have a lot of explaining to do.
