The Grafton Inn is a proud supporter of Vermont’s pioneering farm-to-table philosophy. Our historic inn and two restaurants in southern Vermont offer on-site dining year-round and feature locally-sourced ingredients prepared by food-loving professionals to create timeless, hearty dishes that will please any palate.

The Phelps Barn, originally a carriage house for guests' horses, provides a unique and rustic VT dining experience. Even the hayloft has been repurposed and renovated, providing an elevated seating area as well as our 8-tap bar. It is a fast pace restaurant with live music usually scheduled on the weekends.

If you are looking for a quieter space to have dinner or celebrate a special occasion, we would recommend our 1801 Tavern located inside the Main Inn. This historic space provides a cozy and elevated dining atmosphere. Within the 1801 Tavern you’ll find our recently renovated Pine Room Bar with a working fireplace.

    Es un lugar muy bello para estar tranquilos un ambiente relajado, caminar por las calles, degustar queso y vino lo máximo, los cuartos muy limpios y lindos, la comida deliciosa. Solo no entendí de los 3 días que estuve por allá solo un día hicieron la limpieza de la habitación. La hospitalidad buenísima

    A wonderful night out with great friends. From the atmosphere, ambiance, music , staff and the delicious food We had one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time .

    We had a wonderful dinner at the Phelps Barn. We love the historic charm. The space is warm and inviting. Our waitress, Janice, was very attentive. She was very interactive with our young daughter. Our food was delicious. My husband got the filet which never disappoints. I had the short rib which was flavorful and tender. This is one of our favorite spots in Vermont.

    The food and drink at Phelps Barn pub was incredibly delicious, especially the Brussels sprouts, the Greek risotto, and the lamb bolognese. I usually prefer classic crème brûlée but the Baileys was not too overwhelming. Service was just the right amount of attentiveness, atmosphere a great balance between casual and special. In short, we had a delightful evening.
