Very friendly, no, VERY friendly. Not just the staff but had a chat at the bar with a regular too. The pub was warm but not too hot, just right. Very clean, my local, which thinks it's a gastro pub, should check out The Golden Lion's toilets and take notes. A reasonable wait after ordering for us to enjoy our first drink, a lovely craft beer and a very well made Bloody Mary. I then sampled a different craft beer while my girlfriend moved to her wine of choice to accompany the meal. When the food did arrive it was a good size plate portion. Enough food to fill but not leave you stuffed. The brisket was slow cooked and delicious with horseradish sauce, perfect red cabbage and carrots, and roasties with a top notch gravy. Only slight niggle was the Yorkshire puddings which were frozen, not kitchen made. Very reasonably priced. We will return to this iconic, impressively designed pub.

The Sunday Lunch menu is really tasty and excellent value for money. The vegan jackfruit pie was delicious and substantial and a more interesting option than the usual nut roast. If you are vegan, remember to ask not to have the Yorkshire pudding. The pub is quiet so you can have a decent conversation in the ambience of very nice neighbourhood pub.

I have had a few Sunday roasts in The Golden Lion which were usually lovely but my meal on Sunday was sent good. It was swimming in gravy and lukewarm and just not great. I am sorry to say this as all the other roasts I had there were really good.

Had a great time and have been back many times. First time we went they had live music and it was GREAT! Always a good time!

I had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. I rocked up a tad early, but was greeted with a smile and invitation to sit down and asked what I wanted to drink. Had a lovely chat with the barman throughout my lunch and he checked I was happy with my meal. The roast beef was great. I'm really picky when it comes to roast potatoes, but these were great. The portion size was just right. Absolutely great value as it's just shy of £11! Would definitely come back. One of Camden's hidden gems.

Nous avons passé un très agréable moment dans ce pub bien sympa ! Le cadre est très joli et la musique est excellente. Nous avons très bien mangé (que ce soit qualitativement que quantitativement) pour un prix très très raisonnable. La cerise sur la gâteau : le sourire et la gentillesse de notre hôtesse qui nous a si bien servi. Je recommande +++.

Excellent from the moment we walked in. Let us choose our reserved table. Consistently asked if everything was OK. Walked to the bar to choose beers and they were brought to our table. Sunday lunch was lovely. Definitely a place to go back to.
