The George is a three-storey, 18th century, Grade II listed pub on Great Portland Street in Fitzrovia. Led by publican Dom Jacobs and culinary director James Knappett, the pub has undergone an extensive renovation to restore it to its former glory.

On the ground floor we offer a quintessential British pub experience with original gilded mirrors, dark woods, and green leather seating. Traditional pub fare is served alongside craft beers, cask ales, an extensive spirit selection and seasonal cocktails.

Our second floor, Upstairs at The George, houses a refined Dining Room, an elegant English Sparkling Wine Bar, and a Private Dining Room. The menu features hearty and comforting pub classics, with a focus on provenance and exceptional seasonal ingredients. Dishes are served alongside an extensive wine list of over 300 wines and aperitif-style cocktails.

Very pleasant ambience, service and food in the restaurant. Not the cheapest if looked as a pub. but good value given was a busy Thursday night everywhere in town and this part of the pub represents a relative oasis of calm and the overall impression was of high quality

Food tasty but overpriced Table in bar very cramped. Had people standing over us drinking while trying to eat. Would not recommend eating in the bar. Service was EXCELLENT. Both behind the bar and especially the waiter who served us. Polite efficient and deftly negotiated a crowded bar with hot plates of food.

Comfy and spacious tables, relaxed and engaging service. Food was great quality. The best part is the extensive wine list and English wines by the glass.

Beautifully restored pub with a great selection of beers and great food menu downstairs. Our meal upstairs was outstanding. Personable and efficient service in a beautiful setting. Excellent British produce and an English wine list that will have me coming back every week! Loved it!
