The Fox & Pheasant is a little “country” pub tucked away in a small corner of Chelsea.

The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!

Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! We are lucky enough to be able to wind back our roof in the conservatory for those long summer lunches to.

Alongside our a la carte menu we have a bar snack menu that not only runs all day, everyday but also contains such pub classics. Roasts run all day on a Sunday and we guarantee to make sure you will always have ample spuds, gravy and yorkies!

Well to start the prices have gone up so much here! The mousse went from £10 to £16! That’s crazy! Unfortunately the service does not match the prices! They are untrained and not attentive! The young man saw me take my coat off and did not offer to take it from me and hang it! I had to fight my way to the coat hanger! He just stood there and watched. We used to come all the time when we lived in London and really love to come! Now that we live overseas we only come about 4-5 times a year but this time we were very disappointed! It would be nice to offer soup this time of the year! Also the lights were turned down too much so hard to see the food! We like romantic but not dark.

Absolutely outstanding Steak and ale pie was about as perfect as you can get..the steaks were flavoursome and perfectly cooked The apple toffee pud beautiful Could not recommend this pub/restaurant more Thanks to the good people of the fox and pheasant for a top notch lunch!!

Menu was small but the food was really good , steaks looked amazing the pie was one of the best I’ve had and the desert was scrumptious

Alwyas a great roast but this was a more disappointing visit. Usually I would say this is my favourite roast in london and I always come back here. Have been more times than I can count now but on this occasion something was sadly off. I was called in advance to push my reservation an hour back which was a shame. When we got there the staff were perhaps overwhelmed or understaffed with the number of full tables and we had flag someone down two maybe three times to ask to order, ask for something etc. it was also so so loud in the dining room we had to push into the table to speak. We were served the wrong wine to start and then the food was not up to its usual standard. The beef was much tougher than usual, the chicken was dry, the potatoes were under done… when we ordered ice cream it took ages to arrive and when it did it was basically melted. By that point we were just ready to go! Very sad to write this as I said I’d usually say it’s my favourite spot so maybe it was just an off day…
