The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets.

A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank.

Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery.

To the right is a cosy eating area with wheelback chairs-- ideal for a banquette with friends around a few long tables.

Bus 293 by Kent Coach Tours, Mon & Fri leaves Tenterden Town Hall at 10.30am. Return journey leaves Ferry Inn at 13.20pm. Ask Graham the driver to drop you off at the Ferry Inn and to stop and collect you on the way back. Adult return journey is £4.50, Children half-price.

Second time we have been for Sunday Lunch. The meal was very good, lots of staff so we didnt have to wait for our meal. Would recomend the Stick Toffee Pudding, if you have room for dessert.

Fantastic food, lovely setting, very happy with everything,there was a particularly very loud group in bar area, so would plan to be in restaurant area next time we eat there.would highly recommend.

Lovely pub with a very welcome fire on a cold day. Excellent Sunday roasts and friendly service. Wish we lived closer!

First visit & on recommendation. Beautiful March Saturday with lots of people sitting outside. Our reserved table was in the rear extension looking out on the lawn & waterway. Lovely space with tables not close together. Tasteful & relaxing decor. Service very pleasant. Food excellent. Will definitely go again.

Another great meal only slightly marred by all the roast lunches having ran out by 2.30 pm only chicken available so NOT really Sunday roast day ! All the food that was available was as usual top notch so a great meal even though it was not the one we came for ! This is a great place to eat but Sunday lunch should always be available a lot of people on the day were very disappointed !

An excellent meal. The place was packed but the service was very good and friendly. The food was well presented, with obvious thought as to how it looked as well as how it tasted. Full marks all round.
