The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets.

A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank.

Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery.

To the right is a cosy eating area with wheelback chairs-- ideal for a banquette with friends around a few long tables.

Public transit
Bus 293 by Kent Coach Tours, Mon & Fri leaves Tenterden Town Hall at 10.30am. Return journey leaves Ferry Inn at 13.20pm. Ask Graham the driver to drop you off at the Ferry Inn and to stop and collect you on the way back. Adult return journey is £4.50, Children half-price.

Lovely spacious restaurant with superb food and excellent service. Quiet location if you are a "Britstop" member with good walking for dogs.

Very polite and welcoming. Good selection of beers and wines. Sunday roast was beautiful cooked and presented. Highly recommend

This is my third visit to this lovely pub and I've always had a great experience. I come back each time for their amazing burger which I think is very well priced. I would highly recommend eating here!!

Good beer and food, but avoid the bar area for a peaceful evening- especially if you aren’t a dog person!
