The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets.

A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank.

Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery.

To the right is a cosy eating area with wheelback chairs-- ideal for a banquette with friends around a few long tables.

    Bus 293 by Kent Coach Tours, Mon & Fri leaves Tenterden Town Hall at 10.30am. Return journey leaves Ferry Inn at 13.20pm. <br /><br />Ask Graham the driver to drop you off at the Ferry Inn and to stop and collect you on the way back. Adult return journey is £4.50, Children half-price.<br />

    Lovely fish and chips. A firm favourite and great value. Nice, friendly staff. Gray atmosphere and new extension to the restaurant looks great.

    First time I have visited The Ferry since the opening of their new dining room. What a great extension to the pub and clearly helps with service from the kitchen The roast beef was excellent and overall the Sunday lunch was reasonable value at £60 per head including service and drinks

    Lovely spacious restaurant with superb food and excellent service. Quiet location if you are a "Britstop" member with good walking for dogs.
