The Fat Badger restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience in the heart of Harrogate. The restaurant serves superb quality AA rosette food in elegant surroundings.
Dining during Monday - Thursday your table is likely to be allocated into our bar area.
Tables for our bar on weekends and outdoor patio all the time can not be booked in advance and are offered on a first come first served basis.
Dogs are welcome if customers are happy to dine in our outdoor areas.

Great early evening meal. Sat in the bar as a good atmosphere there. Good fish dishes.

Good food however served worryingly quickly, we hadn’t even got our drinks served. The food was great (no substitutions allowed). The table next to us were very obnoxious, would recommend large tables are seated in a different area to couples as there was the space to accommodate this. After very quick food service e did wait ages to pay the bill .. we ended up going to the bar to pay.

One of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had. The beef was perfectly cooked pink, and a very generous portion. The horseradish sauce was again excellent quality. Lovely fresh vegetables, and really creamy buttery mash and roast potatoes. Excellent service, quick and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Chips with the fish were overcooked, brown and hard. The salmon pie was tasty though.

Attentive and friendly service; food arrived promptly and was absolutely cooked to perfection; wine was topped up regularly. A great experience and highly recommended.

Restaurant excellent. Superb ambience and food. Lovely restaurant for a special occasion. The bar however seemed to have a very different vibe. The latter felt much more like a pub. So give the bar a miss and go straight to the restaurant if you are looking for a special evening. If you want a very casual evening, do the opposite!

Excellent food, good sized portions. Attentive staff, slight issue with the bill which was rectified immediately with no issues at all. Would highly recommend. We ate here twice over the weekend. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend you

We had heard only good things about the restaurant so choose to book for Sunday lunch with friends and family. Three of us had the roast beef and it was so tough as to be mainly inedible. Roast potatoes and mash were delicious but who needs both in fairly large quantities and finally the Yorkshire pudding was dry. We did complain via the waitress and she reported back with an apology but no one or nothing else was forthcoming. For the roast beef eaters it was a huge disappointment. On the plus side my son had the 24hr cooked lamb and that was apparently delicious!
