   Very slow service of drinks and food, waitress was very good though. Food was poor standard, expected a lot better with nice small menu choice unfortunately this didn’t help the kitchen, we had rock hard sourdough toast you couldn’t even cut with scrambled egg or avocado on top, Full breakfast was dried out like it had been kept under a heat lamp before serving. Unfortunately won’t be returning

   The Embankment is situated in a lovely position. When we entered the ambience was very welcoming and warm. Our table was lovely and spacious. The 12oz steak was lovely and cooked just as requested (medium). The other three diners ordered the burger. The bun was very cold and crumbly; the burger itself was good. The other two diners ordered the sweet potato and chickpea curry. (Extremely disappointing!) The chickpeas were tiny and hard as rock, the rest of the dish was “passable” - both diners were not feeling great after they ate this dish. We did mention the issue we had with the curry and the waitress offered teas and coffees on the house and something else to eat. (We asked for hand cut chips) I am not sure we will be returning back to eat in a rush! There is a lot to be improved.

   Food was very disappointing. Soup was lukewarm. Ciabatta so dry it was inedible.

   The fillet steak wasn’t hot, maybe it was because the plate was also cold

   Sunday Roast not the best, very greasy, even the veg. Had to ask for the extra foods we had ordered twice same with water jug.

   Chaotic shambolic, from start to finish If you have a birthday dont bother telling them , they confirmed when. We arrived then did nothing , it was really embarrassing A Training is needed and that’s before we talk about the cold potatoe they scooped off the plate took to the microwave and brought back and dumped it in the plate The drink that arrived 20 mins apart - no need to go on

    Food was poor. Roast beef was like leather and the kids chicken was covered in pepper seasoning. Kids don’t eat pepper!!
