Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant
The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.

Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.

A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044.

Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.

Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

Guests close to me were loud. One guest had a voice like a public address system and another guest kept giggling like Mutley from Catch the Pigeon/Wacky Races The food and service however were both magnificent. It’s pricey but well worth it on the odd occasion

I take my mother here for her birthday every year for the tasting menu and we are never disappointed. The food is exceptional and the flavours are so carefully considered. The wines are beautiful and the knowledge the staff have about the food and wine is exemplary.

Our first visit to The Elephant and it was more than we had imagined. Great atmosphere, incredibly attentive staff and the most amazing food. We can't wait to return.

The food was excellent and the service was first class. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back for more

Another tasting menu with a gorgeous set of taste surprises, and the same goes for the wine pairing, which was excellent. Super value for the quality and experience.

We went for our anniversary, it was a wonderful evening, food was amazing and we had an anniversary car and treat from the team. The taster menu was great and the wine flight was amazing, well paired with each course.

Returning visit. Delicious food prepared with thought and care; harmonious flavours and textures with each mouthful a delight. Great wine list and recommendations from the knowledgeable Sommelier. Friendly, attentive but discreet service. Set lunch good value for the quality of the dishes as always. Highly satisfied.
