Food was average, service was great however it was quite loud and kitchen would yell when dishes were ready so you would hear a yell every 5-10 minutes across the restaurant

Best shrimp n grits I’ve had in the city. Drinks great too. Service from everyone collectively was appreciated

Our server Dre was the highlight of our experience. He was kind, attentive and knowledgeable! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun brunch. The grits were amazing! The owner was also very nice!

Highly disappointed at the food selection they offer for brunch for restaurant week. The fact they didn’t have some items for the pre fix menu plus they didn’t offer anything else due to them not having a few items. I even asked the waiter like well since you guys don’t have what’s on the prefix menu are you guys being accommodating to anything and of course the waiter never came back to answer that. So I’m hoping next year they will do better because this time around I wasn’t happy at all with them.

Not enough staff. It was very loud in there but great music. The shrimp and grits were fantastic.

Our visit started rocky. There was a long wait for a table even with a reservation. But our overall experience was nice. We were given mimosas while we waited for our table and shots. Our server Gino was awesome. Very courteous, knowledgeable and personable. There was another gentleman, I’m not sure if he was the owner but I believe he was, who was very nice and understanding to our first impression of the restaurant. He was the first person to acknowledge our issue and back that up with the mimosas while we waited for our table, and then the bartender followed up with shots. The pricing was very reasonable and the food was awesome. I would visit again, maybe not during brunch because it was very busy, but maybe for happy hour.

Superb!! Owner & staff were so hospitable for our table of 10. Food music and service was fantastic. Went for restaurant week and all of it was so good!

Showed up around 15 min before reservation and the place was about a third filled. They left us waiting by the front door for about 8-10 minutes before sitting us. Just didn't make any sense with all the empty tables/booths. Waitress was very nice but we asked for the salad to come out 1st but it came with the rest of the food. 2 of us had pastas and they both thickened up quite fast and became a little chewy to eat. The other had the burger. The bun was too big for the amount of meat and toppings it had. It also tasted a bit salty. As the restaurant filled the noise level was noticeably louder as we were having to speak very loud to hear each other at our table.

I recently had the chance to dine at [THE DUPLEX ] and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. While the ambiance had great potential, my visit was marred by a few notable issues. Firstly, I must mention the food. Unfortunately, SOME of the dishes we ordered were overwhelmingly salty, which made it difficult to enjoy the flavors. this was a bit much, and it overshadowed the meal. Another point of concern was the service. It seemed like the restaurant might have been understaffed during my visit, leading to a chaotic atmosphere and longer wait times. One one server was serving all tables. And unfortunately she had an overwhelming smell coming from her. What stood out most, however, was the manager's response to customer feedback. When approached about our concerns, the manager was rather brusque, which left a sour note on what could have been a delightful evening. Despite these drawbacks, I believe in the power of constructive criticism. I did not have the chance to provide feedback directly to management at the time, but I hope they can take this into account and work on improving their service and food quality. Overall, while there were elements that could use significant improvement.
