The Daffodil is a Michelin-awarded food-led country pub, with high quality Shepherd's Hut accommodation (bookable directly via The Daffodil website and via Air B&B) in the pretty rural village of Penrhiwllan. Located 4 miles from Newcastle Emlyn, midway between Cardigan, Carmarthen & Aberystwyth, it's an ideal location for a few days rest or a relaxing meal in scenic surroundings.

Food at The Daffodil is freshly prepared using the best quality local produce wherever possible. The menu, available to guests eating in the restaurant, bar areas and outside decking over-looking the unspoilt valley incorporates dishes appropriate for full three-course dining and for those wishing for more traditional bar-meal-style dining. Guests can watch our chefs working in full view in our gallery kitchen, or enjoy the unspoilt view across the valley, eating on the south-facing decking.

    service was excellent, seats comfortable, selection and preparation of food was great though some of the specials were unavailable and quite expensive

    Food was delicious, service was good, it would have been perfect if the dining area had been a little warmer, as it was a bit chilly.

    So glad I google searched places to eat that my husband and I haven’t been to before. We are based in Swansea so this place is a good hour drive. It sure was worth the drive! Outstanding food, The Ultimate Sunday Roast was beautiful including starters. Lovely decor and great ambience. A proper delight. We will deffo visit again in the near future.

    Everything really great again. It would have been a clean sweep but the almond and cranberry cake was a tad dry and over done. Caramel sauce, spot on. We love the place.

    Such a wonderful place! The staff are always so welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely divine and never disappoints. Their vegetarian food is always so delicious and varied! I always recommend this place and will definitely be back!

    The food was outstanding also the friendly service. Nothing could be faltered, the atmosphere the music all in all excellent, can't wait to go again, Thank you for a lovely evening.

    Four of us went for Sunday lunch. Two had the chilli spare rib starters, which were delicious, just the right amount if chilli. For the main course, one had the pork, one the beef, and the other two had the battered fish. Everyone was more than happy with their meals. The plates were hot, which is always a good sign, and therefore the food also was piping hot, with very tasty stuffing and gravy. Two deserts, were sticky toffee pudding, and bread and butter pudding , which both enjoyed.. Big thank you to Dafydd and Carys who looked after us really well. Thank you also to the chef for serving beautiful food.
