So disappointed by what has been done to this “revamped “ venue. It used to be a comfortable and welcoming go to space to meet friends in the middle of the city but no more unfortunately. Layout is a bit odd and messy. The music did not enhance our visit. Service was ok though a bit slow. It was noisy and no longer a comfortable space to be in. The worst aspect of the refurb however is the lighting. It is unpleasantly bright and a bit lacking in imagination and warmth. It completely spoils the space and atmosphere. We left after one drink which was not what we had planned.

I was very disappointed with the service. I wanted more water and could not get the attention of any server for over 15 minutes. They were huddled around the computer and oblivious to the guests. The venue is naturally prone to echo so ambient noise (mostly from the inevitable crying child) was problematic. And I hate eating off a totally bare table…. There wasn’t even a placemat. On a positive note, the food was good and the portions were appropriate.

Massively duped with the entertainment. I was so looking forward to a Jazz Night; live piano and travelled from another city for it but alas, a James Corden lookalike with a guitar that may have well been a busker from off the street. No jazz, just some painful rendition of music from the 2000’s- Train??The Corrs? It didn’t fit the ambience whatsoever. So disappointed. The website said “ live jazz, piano, and our harpist complete the experience.”
