Well first want to say we’ve been here many times. Today was an extremely busy and even though bookings had been taken it’s fair to say there was a delay in seating. We’d booked in marquee as we had our dog with us and although there was a table free (admittedly for 6) we (2 of us) were asked to sit in the garden. We did this but didn’t understand why as we were seated in the garden at a table for 8 … so why we were asked to move to the garden and not those who’d booked the marquee (who hadn’t turned up yet) I’m not sure. Bet hey ho… weather was great so took our seat. We waited for our order to be taken, and waited… then had to prompt for service. Finally we had someone take the order, olives to share rather than a starter and then our main meal - Lemon sole & Beef dinner. Our drinks came really quickly then we sat and waited, waited some more and waited nearly an hour (we knew it would be a while given how busy it was) but we at least expected the olives … I finally gave up and again prompted to find out when we could expect anything …. I was asked whether we’d had our starters - err nope! .. then the olives were bought to be told mains also on the way out. Obviously we didn’t want the olives at the same time so asked for them to be taken away. The meals came out and the food was as usual very good. But today let down by the obvious over booking .. when we book a table at other restaurants and they are ‘reserved’ walk in’s or diners are told they can be served but need to vacate a table by the time it’s reserved for. Maybe this is something that Could be considered. Also when seating patrons in the garden when they have booked it would be a good idea for the waitresses to regularly check whether they are ready to order. In summary fab food but not the best experience today which was a shame.

We went two nights running. Just brilliant. We will certainly return many more times. The service is second to none.

Clubhouse West Bexington is a lovely beachside location serving good food at reasonable prices. Online booking is simple and availability is good at thus time of year(March). Sunday lunch is excellent value with 2 course or 3 course options at £20/£25. Todays seafood chowder was warming and flavoursome with nice chunks of salmon. The main of pork belly was served with a colourful array of veg and a good portion of tasty gravy. Service was timely and with a smile. Loyalty cards are a great idea even though I would have no hesitation to choose here again.

asa always… a special place, And full on a Sunday, but we got a table at short notice….. as We are NOT big eaters, nd defininately a Large Roast!! we had a light but very delicious starter and pud each!!

Normally very good but today was very very poor. Service terrible waited ages to be asked for a drink and order then wait ages for the drink to arrive started arrived at the same time as the drink so sat ages with nothing not even a glass of water. Even had to ask for glasses to drink the water when it came. Then waited over an hour for the mains! Someone apologised after an hour waiting but when they came no one apologised ! Food not that hot and I think they actually ran out of food which was the issue. Did not both with desert or coffee and could not be bothered to wait. There is one waitress who is great but everyone else very poor. Club House is definitely not what it used to be. We stay locally and have been going for years but today The Club House let itself down and I will think twice before going back. There are other places close which are worth a try now.
