The Clare Castle Port Melbourne is one of Melbourne's finest pub restaurants. Pub classics are a feature but we raise the bar with amazing char grilled steaks, incredible seafood including prawns, beautiful fresh fish, freshly shucked oysters and our signature Moreton Bay bugs available in numerous dishes. We also have vegetarian and gluten free options and many other delights.

We offer multiple dining options: FULL SERVICE in the Restaurant and on the Restaurant Terrace. BAR SERVICE (and optional QR code ordering) in the Bar and on the footpath tables. We also have a fabulous private wine room for your special occasion (please ring to enquire about this room).

We have 2 other closer pubs, North Port & Railway BUT we have been going here for last 4 years at least several times a month, including getting takeout during Covid. That’s got to say, we definitely rate the place. Probably been to the others mentioned, 5 or 6 times over same period.

As always a great night and dining experience, especially for a friend who hasn’t been there before. He advised it’s the best steak he’s had for ages…

No veal schnitzel available… I ordered a Rump medium.. it was completely through and small…. The pepper sauce was very good ! Friendly service 👍

Claire Castle has a lovely ambience. The staff are helpful but subtle. Food was delicious. I had the special of Barramundi with ginger and soy and Jasmine rice. Flavours were good and the fish was cooked perfectly. My husband had the king prawns with garlic. They were a good size and flavour was good. Good sized portions. We really enjoyed our lunch.

Disappointed to be told that two of the dishes we ordered were not available. On booking I asked for a quieter area so we could carry on conversations but were placed at a large round table which are difficult to converse with others seated on the other side of the table. Prices for both food and drink were good value. Our waitresses were polite and provided good table service.
