Welcome to The Chequers, Hainford | Country Pub & Dining Room | We're opening on the 17th June. Come back soon to see our new menu, crafted by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team.

Nestled in the Norfolk village of Hainford, you’ll find beautiful, exposed beams, authentic stone floors and open fire places inside this 18th Century thatched country pub & dining room.

A country pub through and through serving local ales, artisan spirits and a menu full of the best seasonal produce curated by Executive Chef Pete Murrell and his team. This is all underpinned by our focus on creating great experiences, an escape from everyday life, whether you’re are with us for a quick drink or dining with friends and family.

We were pleased with a good range of gluten free options on the menu (slightly less so on the dessert menu.) The menu was quite wide ranging and fairly imaginative. Another vegetarian / vegan option would be nice but, overall, the choice was good. Presentation nice. You can always quibble over minor points as that comes down to individual taste and that will always be the case anywhere. We enjoyed our meal and the price was pretty fair. Yes, we would go back there again and, yes, we would recommend The Chequers to others. Not sure if the wine list includes any non alcoholic wines but that would be a nice option, particularly as non alcoholic drinks are in greater demand than every.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Extensive menu choice. Food arrived in good time. The Cumberland pin wheel and bubble and squeak cake was served with a delicious gravy. The haddock was very fresh and served with minted mushy peas and well cooked chips. Will definitely return to sample more dishes.

Great food as always but staffing seemed stretched and asked for a drink 3 times before it came. Excellent value for quality food.

This is our second visit in recent months and again we were not disappointed. The quality of the food is excellent and great value for the money. This coupled with the attentive service we received made it a very enjoyable night.

First time I’ve eaten at this restaurant. Food was delicious, presented well & tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place, will definitely be back to try their roast dinner.
