The Chef's Table es un pequeño restaurante independiente en el corazón del centro de Chester, ofreciendo lo mejor de su producción local en su variado menú de temporada. Este restaurante trabaja con The Natural Veg Men, un grupo de productores orgánicos ubicados a 24,1 km del del restaurante y cuyos productos tienen gran influencia en el menú. Un pequeño menú de hasta 2 platos principales por 15 GBP y hasta 3 platos por 18 GBP es ofrecido para el almuerzo. En la noche se ofrece un menú con una variedad mayor de platos originales e innovadores, todos hechos con los mejores productos a su disposición. Oh my goodness we had a beautiful meal, the starters and desserts were exceptional. We chose several from the snack menu. Tempura prawns were outstanding. The mains were really good, only issue was monkfish still had water residue that sadly diluted the Thai sauce, and potatoes oil the venison dish were a tiny bit over salted. This didn’t affect our overall experience and the restaurant was very busy due to valentines night. More staff would have helped reduce waiting times and probably the tiniest faults mentioned. These were not worth mentioning at the time as staff were doing their very best. Mentioning now for management feedback. Will definitely visit again! The starters and desserts were the best we’d ever tried!! All Staff so friendly and welcoming!

Decided to give this place a second chance, having been to the restaurant in its previous guise in the music hall passage a few years back and found it disappointing. The pre-booked welcome drink wasn’t provided until requested. Good focaccia appetiser and “the usual” gordal olives. Surprised to find there was no tasting menu option and the menu was a bit typically Chester rather than unusual and inspiring. Lobster tail starter was about half a small lobster tail and a small piece of hot smoked salmon with a nice rich sauce. A good starter, nicely presented. Special valentines surf and turf was half a steak and two prawns. While steak was nicely cooked, it was lacking flavour and not sufficiently matured. Pecorino and truffle chips lacked crispness. Dessert again nicely presented - chocolate with strawberries and cream - had a nice ganache but the chocolate used for the shell could have been better quality. I was underwhelmed and wouldn’t go again. Twenty Eight next door is better and I prefer the small plates concept. Also better value next door. For a real step up in quality, service and imaginative cooking, head to Covino.
