The South Cotswolds holds many attractions and events and the Cat is superbly situated to be able to enjoy many of these. Both the historic towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury are within a stone’s throw of us.

A three-mile radius encompasses Westonbirt Arboretum and Westonbirt school, Highgrove gardens, and the Beaufort polo club. Badminton and Gatcombe horse trials are both within easy reach. We are 24 miles from the Roman spa town of Bath and from the city of Bristol, both with their many attractions. Cheltenham races are 34 miles from the Cat.

Apart from these attractions, we are in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with many wonderful walks direct from our front door. We welcome well-behaved dogs.
Our chef’s mission is to serve delicious pub food at reasonable prices. Our ingredients are fresh and largely sourced from local suppliers. Our menu changes with the seasons and availability of quality produce.

                                                                              Service wasn’t great, had to order our own drinks at the bar as we weren’t asked, then had to ask for our food order to be taken, and it eventually arrived an hour after we had arrived. I think they were either under staffed or staff were very inexperienced. Food was just ok and presented like a school dinner. Not what we were expecting given this place was recommended. Maybe we caught them on a bad night but I don’t think we will venture there again.

                                                                              Food was very good and staff very polite. The bad points, I ordered water with the food which we didn’t get and when the food arrived which was perfect We didn’t offered any condiments so had to go and get them ourselves along with another round of drinks which I asked for and didn’t come. I hope it was just a glitch as I would definitely pay another visit

                                                                              We had a lovely roast for Mother’s Day. Only criticism was the meat was served and the veg failed to appear until we prompted them a few minutes later but overall it was delicious and there was no skimping on the meat. Highly recommend the rhubarb crème brûlée

                                                                              Absolutely wonderful early Mother’s Day lunch. Had a great walk around the local area and then settled in for a scrumptious lunch and we weren’t disappointed. Fab ambience, great service and the food was amazing.

                                                                              We had a lovely dinner at the Cat and Custard Pot. All the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and professional. Food was great. Overall we had a fantastic evening.

                                                                              Fabulous quintessential village pub who offer an excellent menu together with wine list. Excellent food served together with prompt service and attention to detail. Lovely cosy relaxed ambiance dog friendly and there's a car park. Can't wait to re-visit....

                                                                              Unfortunately not very impressed. Table booked for 12.30, no staff at all at the bar to greet us until 12.50. Beef had mounds of horrible looking fat, potatoes were not roasted, whole meal was greasy. Veg was good, but my business partner’s lamb was 50% fat leaving just a few mouthfuls of very chewy truly awful meat. On a positive note, once staff were finally available, they were attentive & polite.
