A group of 10 with all bar one having a Sunday roast - the food was very good and good value for money. It’s a lovely bar though given our group size we were seated upstairs with no other diners… not a huge issue, but added to which a table for 10 wasn’t set (despite it being a confirmed reservation) was a little disappointing but it didn’t spoil a lovely lunch in the end.

Great Sunday lunch is a fantastic Richmond pub. Definitely visiting again.

We ordered beef roast dinners. What came out was good-ish but had more the feel of a smaller plate meal. For the price the value for money was average at most. Frozen roast vegetables is not a good look for what was once a top-level purveyor of Sunday roasts. Where is the delicious mash that used to accompany the roast? Moderately disappointed.

Stopped on a campsite called Brompton on Swale caravan park for two nights and stopped here for food on the Saturday. Food and service was outstanding and would definitely come back here again. We have been here twice now and both time have been very lovely

It was a very busy evening as the local folk club were entertaining in the front lounge area, our food and drink order was taken fairly quickly and arrived after a reasonable space of tIme. We chose from the set menu which gives greater value for money, all the dishes were very tasty and the raspberry and apple crumble is a dish to die for.

Waited an hour for food to arrive , the steak pie arrived in uncooked pastry , a spoonful of mash with dry peas, we did complain and received a discount. The waitress lady said food was brought in and not cooked onsite that was the reason for the poor quality. The table next to us also sent food back. Such a shame as the place used to have such a great reputation.
