The Black Grape - a new small plate restaurant located on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Expect small plates, wine & good times in a stunning setting. This custom designed wine bar & restaurant is the ideal setting for intimate date night dining, drinks with friends or a quick snack as you people watch in the heart of the city. Our menu is a gastronomic tour de force with inspiration from around the globe. One thing unites all our dishes however - bold, punchy flavours and plates that are perfect for sharing. In addition to a 40 seater restaurant the Black Grape also has a cozy wine & cocktail bar - expect a carefully curated selection of drinks soundtracked with the best funk & soul.

Booked this restaurant on a whim as it was hard to get a booking last minute on a Saturday and we were so happy we did. The food was amazing, some really inventive flavour combinations and the staff were amazing, so kind and attentive. A really lovely space and the manager seemed really genuinely invested in everyone enjoying their visit. Our standout orders were the lasagne croquettes, Halloumi and the mushroom dish. Wine was great also, and impressed by the selection. A must-visit if you're in Edinburgh and I hope to return some day in the future. Thanks for a lovely evening.

First class service and excellent food, but in a noisy atmosphere. Would merit some sound isolation between the bar area and the restaurant. After sampling a few red wines, opted for a bottle of Malbec, which was no where near the quality expected for the description and price label. For the 6 dishes we ordered it would have been great if there was some coordination between kitchen and table as to time the arrival of hot food. They all arrived quite close together, which meant a few dishes were fairly cold before they were eaten. All in all a good experience if slightly missing some finer points to satisfy the price tag.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough ! Our second visit and already booked our third visit ..superb food ..superb waiters ..superb wines ..superb service …what more can you ask for 👌👏👏

Wow! We all had an incredible time at The Black Grape. So many incredible dishes, each prepared with an unusually high level of craft. The flavour profiles are absolutely exceptional and the combinations of taste and texture are perfect. The service is excellent. Just the right level of attentive, with great recommendations, while not being overbearing. This all helps to create a great, laid back but fun environment to enjoy the wonderful food on offer! Thanks to all at The Black Grape for providing us such an enjoyable evening!

Top notch evening at Black Grape. The Abroath Smokie Arancini in Cullen Skink cream was to die for...as were the cocktails. Have recommended to colleagues already and will be visiting again when next in Edinburgh. Thanks you Black Grape (you have a amazing team!)
