A lovely lunch at The Birley Arms. Food very good and hot. Nice and warm in the restaurant as quite cold outside! Toilets very clean and fresh. A smiling lady took our order and brought our food. Relaxing lunch.A few years since we have visited you but will certainly come again sooner this time!

I enjoyed the Roadt chicken and my wife ordered the gammon. Both of these dishes were delicious. My wife then ordered the sticky toffee pudding and I had the cherry sundae both were to die for. Well recommended

Booked for Christmas Day, waited 30mins to be seated, at least 15 mins before our starter arrived then waited 1hour 20mins for main course and another 30mins for dessert, we were supposed to be given a glass of Prosecco which never arrived, although the food arrived hot, the main didn’t come with any mash or cranberry sauce and the portion was small, It wasn’t worth the money we paid and I won’t be booking again in a hurry, over booked and understaffed, A real disappointment.

Lack of table service, nobody asked if we wanted another drink , over an hour between starter and main meal ( also about 25 mins to wait for dessert) and quite a rude response from a member of staff when we enquired when we could expect our lunch. Very disappointing day as it was a Christmas present for my in laws- we certainly didn’t feel welcomed- also when food did come out, they were all covered in gravy rather than presenting a gravy boat so we could add our own…

The Pre-Order system needs clarity and is mis-leading. Eg. Side dishes are not included, so should be explained by the waitress upon arrival at the table .

The meals were delicious. I ordered the mixed grill and my wife had the gammon steak. Both were cooked to perfection. We didn’t leave a thing. We then followed with the cherry sundae and it didn’t disappoint, it was absolutely delicious. Well recommended.

The baked Camembert was exceptional. We are all of us loved that and it was large enough for 3. The pie was absolutely brilliant, the pastry I think is a watercrust pastry, I’m not sure but it was absolutely brilliant. Not the usual frozen puff pastry used in a lot of places. The meat inside it was very tender. Pulled lamb shepherds pie and sausage with mash, both excellent. The brownie was also fab. All food was excellent. Beer selection and wine selection was great. Has an amazing out door venue area too. Best pub food for a long time. We were visiting the area and will come back to eat here definitely.

Excellent service, staff very pleasant and eager to please. Lovely ambiance and plenty of space provided for one of our friends with mobility needs. Food excellent and competative prices. 2 of us have smaller appetites so we really appreciated the Smaller plate options. We have dined here in the past and will definitely be back.
