The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

    Join us for a night of laughter and delicious food at our restaurant! We're excited to host a local comedian who promises to deliver a fantastic performance. Tickets are just £35, which includes a delightful meal to enjoy while you laugh the night away. Arrive by 6:45 pm to settle in, as the show will kick off at 7:30 pm. Don't miss out on this entertaining evening filled with great food and plenty of laughs!

    We had a brilliant evening, celebrating my partner's 50th birthday. There were five of us in total, including our 11yr old son and 8yr old twin daughters. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating or more attentive and were there frequently checking in to see if we were okay. In fact, I would say the service was exceptional. The setting was stunning. In an outside, heated pod overlooking the river...perfect! The food was delicious and although slightly more expensive than we would usually pay, it did not seem extortionate and the plates of food were well presented and enjoyed by everyone.

    I love thus restaurant. Staff lovely. Food is absolutely delicious yummy and faultless. Really good service in beautiful location. Cannot recommend enough.

    I felt the main course, while delicious was particularly parsimonious! And they’d run out of cheddar! So I was unable to order the cheese board! I also felt the main dining room lacked any real ambience, was far too bright and not very warm on a cold evening.

    Loved it. Had our wedding reception there 14 years ago. First time we’ve been back. Were treated amazingly. Food was incredible. Lovely atmosphere. Just book it. Do it soon. We’ll definitely be back.
