The Barre, Arts Centre Melbourne’s sleek space, offers a touch of luxury and hint of showmanship. You’ll find a lively pre- and post-show buzz that takes the bar and eatery from early evening to late night.

The modern Australian menu, with its emphasis on fresh seasonal ingredients, offers both small and larger dishes to be shared and enjoyed with friends. We loved our experience at the Tar and Roses lunch at The Barre today. Everything was perfect and we can’t wait to come back for the next one.

menu very limited. fish option should have been fillet rather than whole fish. chips good. ravioli dish o.k. but not memorable. flatbread tasty. Service bit slow.

The duck was very good and the wine list had lots of choices. Our waiter was a bit muddle headed but it was busy! This is a great spot for pre-theatre dinner.

I’m totally surprised this place wasn’t fully booked out. The food was absolutely amazing, beautiful presentation along with reasonable prices. With some of the most AMAZING staff I have encountered. To say this place was 5/5 is an understatement.

Great food and great staff. Good selection of mains. Quick service for a busy place. Table was in the quieter area so perfect fur small group. Staff were fabulous.
