The Back Street is a first floor restaurant in the heart of Dumfries town centre. With an ever-changing menu full of locally sourced ingredients, chef & owner William Wakefield along with his wife Suzanne and their team are sure to have something for you. Try the signature Haggis Scotch Egg, a mouth watering steak, or perhaps some locally sourced Venison. Elderflower & Vodka Parfait for dessert? Yes Please! Back Street never lets us down. The eclectic menu is difficult to choose from and the service is unique….. That’s a reason we keep coming back! Food, Hawkstone lager, cocktails. Need I say more?

Steak night is such good vfm. We added onion rings & they were the best ever. Steak was lovely, cooked as we asked. Chips, sauce & macaroni were all lovely. The waiting staff were very nice friendly girls. . The whole place has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Great place to eat. We will be back.

Been here many times and never had a bad meal, another fantastic “Steak Night” experience. Great value for money!

Went for steak night and can definitely recommend, sirloin steak to share with chips and peppercorn sauce with a bottle of wine for £55 , great value.

The food was delicious. The only comment I would make is that the chips were over salted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
