Food and service was excellent had the lamb and scallops. Banana bread pudding was to die for. Will definitely go back.

Food was excellent and our server was attentive and helpful with menu suggestions. Kitchen and bar was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday night

As usual, excellent food! Got noisy as more folks came but still lower than most. Love the handicapped parking at 909 Davis.

We returned to The Alcove, because our previous experience was wonderful. They did not disappoint! The food was delicious. The service was attentive and impeccable. We really enjoyed our return visit and will be back when we return to Evanston!

Pleasant setting for quiet conversation and excellent service. Everything ordered was delicious except two halibut servings, which were crusty, dry and very overcooked. This was unusual, as we have had tasty halibut there previously. Nevertheless, we will return, as the service and everything served is normally exceptional.

I was an excellent experience, we asked for a more private table and they put us in an area further back in the restaurant. They seemed to be busy but they were very attentive to the guests they had. The meal was not rushed which was quite nice for us and we had a very lovely and delicious evening....And it was my partners birthday and he turned the tables on me and proposed, saying that it was what he wanted for his birthday, for me to marry him. So it will be a wonderful memory here, and because it was such a nice setting it makes it even better.

My wife and I have had dinner here many times before, but last night we brought two friends who were there for the first time. They were extremely impressed, and we all concluded we’d had one of the better dining experiences of the past year. Everything was first rate, from cocktails through dessert. Two of us had the striped bass and agreed that it was superlative with the lobster tortellini. My wife had a delicious rack of lamb, perfectly cooked, and the fourth member of our party enjoyed the short ribs. As for the desserts, we split a couple of them; do not miss the butterscotch and Honeycrisp apple bread pudding.

The scallops entree was wonderful. So were the soup and the goat cheese onion tart. Great dining experience. Expensive, but worth it.
