Chef Teiichi Sakurai, well-known as the founder of Teppo (1995) and Tei Tei (1998), opened Tei-An in 2008 at One Arts Plaza. Chef Sakurai continues the pursuit of introducing authentic Japanese culinary culture to Dallas through ancient techniques and years of mastering the fragile and sophisticated soba noodle.
Called "The crown jewel of Japanese dining in Dallas" by former Dallas Morning News restaurant critic Leslie Brenner, Tei-An continues to induct diners into the art of dining at a traditional, yet modern, Japanese soba noodle house.

Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Tokyo-born chef Teiichi Sakurai helped introduce Japanese food and culture to Dallas starting in the '90s before opening this celebrated soba house in 2008. The intimate omakase counter surrounds a rock garden at the center, creating a shrine-like, very-Tokyo atmosphere for wagyu, sashimi, and other traditional Japanese fare. One thing's for sure: every meal from this six-time James Beard semifinalist must end with soba.

    We really enjoyed ourselves. This was our first time at Japanese restaurant of this caliber. Our waiter was very helpful and made great recommendations. For the quality of the food, the value is fantastic in our opinion.

    Definitely worth trying out at least once in your life. The food is absolutely fantastic (duh) and the service is great. Like other reviews say, if you get the omakase, it is a bit slow, but my husband and I were expecting that based on the reviews and we were enjoying ourselves and the experience so had no issue. The pace definitely felt purposeful so you could fully enjoy your meal (we had a 6:30pm reservation and left close to 9pm). We are definitely going back to experience some of the other foods they have to offer.

    Consistent with all of our visits to Tei-An...both service and food were excellent. The environment was energetic, but allowed for conversation. Our Service Provider, David, was very attentive and made sure we were on time for our performance commitment at the Meyerson. Tei-An is a favorite destination.

    Entire experience was amazing. Every course was great. We will become regular customers here. The best part of the night was our waiter TJ. He provided great service and was clearly passionate about his job and the food.
