   Not sure what’s going on, but…… The Tavern has been one of my favs for a burger or patty melt, cocktail etc. I’ve left a great review in the past because it was so good but Saturday night we made a quick res at 7:30. We had been gone all day and were starving. Bartender was the server at a high top,ok. Drinks were good. Then the food arrived. Small portion of a Cobb salad that was visually unappealing, all white iceberg lettuce, sprinklings of unidentified extras, bacon? Egg? And an added boiled unseasoned chicken breast. Seriously? This should not have been served. My patty melt, requested medium, was raw. I scraped raw meat out of the patty, I’ve ordered this a gazillion times before and this was just awful. Yes, we both ate what we could salvage because we were so hungry. Am I mad that we didn’t send it back? 100%. It was late and we were tired so we didn’t. Mentioned to the waiter and he said “ oh, dessert on us”, no thanks, we don’t usually order dessert. Bill was 125$ for a salad, patty melt and fries and two Negronis. Just crossed The Tavern off my list. Sorry, Mark.

   Great dinner and nice staff. When I tried to change my reservation at 6:00 from 2 to 3, Open Table no longer had 6:00 available (we took 6:15) and there would not be dining or hightop seating available and that we would have to take bar or patio. We selected patio. When we arrived at 6:15, the hostess said they had plenty of indoor seating. So that was a little strange but all in all a very good experience.

   Great ambience and noise level to be able to converse. Menu diverse and fun- all perfectly executed. Most pleasant place to dine!

   These guys know how to make a sandwich. No doubt they understand it starts with the bread. We always go back for the BLT. This time we threw in the grilled cheese. OMG! Excellent. Every bite. Also included is a small cup of tomato bisque. Very tasty. Staff is always great. Parking out front is very easy. If I could ask for anything it'd be to have them closer to home.

   We had another amazing evening at Tarbell’s Tavern. The perfect blend of great food, wine and service. It’s the perfect neighborhood go to restaurant.

   Food is consistently good, incredible wine selection, and the service is very good. Unfortunately this evening, we had to wait 30 minutes past our rez time to get seated. The manager was apologetic and brought us 2 appetizers as a goodwill gesture, which was unexpected and very nice.

    My wife and I have been coming to The Tavern to celebrate Valentine’s Day for several years. Each year has been a fabulous experience. The food is always delicious and the staff is particularly engaging. This year, Jason in the Wine Shop helped us select a perfect wine with our dinner. We will be back soon and definitely again next year for Valentine’s Day.
