El mejor lugar para celebrar con amigos y familiares , el DJ fue de lo mejor y el servicio al cliente fue excelente. Volvería a visitar TAKO

The service was okay. Food was over priced and not great. Felt like a tourist trap. The atmosphere was nice, but the DJ. This is was way too loud to hold decent conversation and I'm in my 20s.

The restaurant is absolutely cute, the drinks are not only really good but have an amazing presentation, the food is just okay and the service was great from the whole crew. The only issue is the music is way too loud, and it makes hard to have a conversation.

This place is really cool all around. The decor is really creative and engaging. The staff were on top of our orders, refills, and water throughout the night. The plantain app and XXX roll were standouts for us. We were concerned about the noise level based on other reviews we read. While the music could be a tad quieter, it honestly wasn’t an issue having a conversation. And our table was the one directly in front of the DJ booth. All four of us would recommend this place for a fun, unique night out and will be back again ourselves.

I really wanted to like this place. It had all the elements that you would expect that should work. Sushi mixed with the idea of a speakeasy… sadly, though the DJ kind of destroyed the vibe. Granted I went on a Saturday with a date, expecting more of a low-key, with dim, lighting coupled with conversation and intimacy. But the ruined that. Coupled with the fact that it was next to impossible to see the menu due to the lack of lighting, it was really hard to actually have a conversation because you couldn’t hear the other person next to you. in terms of the food, I was hoping that would make up for setting. The rice was literally crunchy. As the kitchen left if it out, and decided to run reuse it. I could say the quality was equal to that of the fish as well. The lackluster appearance of the fish coupled with the slight sourness that I tasted with the sashimi made me question. If the people prepping the food we’re taking proper care. Needless to say the following morning, my date and I both had a lot of stomach issues. I really want this place to succeed, most likely it will. But if you’re going here for food or for any type of verbal conversation… Go elsewhere. The highlight of the entire evening were the cocktails. I think this place is better suited as a club rather than a restaurant.

📍San Diego’s newest speakeasy located in Old Town @tako_sd is a 🥢 Japanese-Mexican fusion hot spot that is hip and vibey with a 🎶 DJ, drinks that brought a show 🔥 to the table, and one of the best sushi 🍣 rolls we’ve ever had! We went here to start our night so we only ordered drinks and an appetizer, but based on our experience we are definitely looking forward to trying more of their food options. We ordered: 🔥 Slow Dancing in a burning room 📜 Message in a bottle 🍋‍🟩 Yur talking to me 🥃 Suntory Toko smoked 💨 Old Fashion 10/10 🍣 XXX Roll - with Lobster, Wagyu Beef, and white truffle… so bougie ❤️

Here’s a brief review you can use or modify: Outstanding food and service! The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the staff was attentive and welcoming. The only downside was the that the venue was quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation, and the lighting was very dim.

Very nice and food is good, what it killed was that the music was at a nightclub level for a tinny speak easy where people were having dinner trying to have conversations. Reading lips is not much an enjoyable thing to do.
