We went to this restaurant in Old Ellicott on a tour. The 3 of us are at this location to celebrate one of my friends birthdays. The food was wonderful and the owner who served us was incredible.

We love Syriana! Our dinner last night was delicious, and the service was prompt, friendly, and responsive. The servings are generous and reasonably priced. We were shown to our table on the second floor balcony right away and enjoyed refreshing apricot sangrias while we waited for our food. It was not a quiet table because of Saturday evening traffic, but we enjoyed hearing the live music just inside the door. The weather was cool and pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We have never been disappointed in Syriana and highly recommend it!

If you're walking and shopping in Ellicott City and need a place to catch a good meal at a great value, while you rest up for more shopping...Syriana is a great choice. The ample menu of Middle Eastern meals provide great options for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. This is a casual, low-key atmosphere. If the weather is mild, they have a terrace on the second floor where you can eat and people-watch at the same time.

Best part was the Jazz performance of Michael Friedman and Jake Ruth. What a bonus to an already great venue.

I was discriminated against today when trying to be seated and dine at this restaurant. I love this restaurant and I have introduced many friends and family to it as well. As a family, we love food from all cultures and one of our favorites is Middle Eastern cuisine. My son loves Syriana, but after today’s experience, we will not be returning. I had made a reservation on OpenTable for outside balcony seating. When we arrived, I was informed that the balcony area was reserved for reservations. I had specifically reserved a table for the second floor balcony, which is where they continually refused access for us. I saw multiple people, from their culture be led onto the balcony. I inquired and was told that I wasn’t allowed to have an outside table as I had reserved because I made the reservation at 6:09 when the reservation was for 6:15 and therefore no tables were available. The staff continued to treat us rudely when we asked to move outside. I don’t like saying this but our party was discriminated against due to our culture. I’m disgusted by the behavior of the staff and will not be back! Did I mention I speak Arabic and heard everything you said about us!!!

We enjoyed our experience at Syrians Cafe. Food was very good. Nice use of spices. Service was a bit slow but I think they were pretty busy. I appreciate their effort and providing “something different “ in Old Ellicott City. I suggest folks try Syrians Cafe and Restaurant. We’ll be back. Live music was a plus!

My wife and came in from Baltimore for a date night in charming Old Ellicott City. The menu at Syriana looked tasty and eclectic, so we decided to give it a try. We loved every element from the mezza and grill platters to the ambiance and live band. We highly recommend Syriana.
