Wonderful fillet steak - perfectly cooked and a really nice peppery kick - with fries, followed by a Jerusalem artichoke and caramel soft-serve both interesting and comforting.

Even though our waitress was very sweet, the food took too long and the dessers arrived very very late, our teas and coffees got cold etc. There was literally one waitress for all of downstairs. And we were seated next to the back kitchen, where they were bringing all the produce out to take upstairs. I would have really made a big complaint especially as the table was so tight, hardly any room to move our chairs. It was my son’s birthday and I was very upset about celebrating it there. Plus the portions were extremely small especially the onion soup, beef fillet and beetroot salad. It’s a big shame and we should have been told we had to sit in a basement on my son’s birthday.

One of the best meals and experiences I’ve ever had. Food was fantastic, service was too and sitting at the counter watching the food prepared was really unique.

The house salad was really good. My mussels were just OK. The rotisserie chicken and fries were very good. Wine recommended was nice. We were seated at the counter near the windows. Perhaps I made that mistake in my reservation but they were extremely uncomfortable. We should have asked to be re-seated at a table or the bar. It was so uncomfortable after 30 minutes we wanted to be done with our meal and leave.

Great atmosphere, with friendly staff. Comprehensive wine list, whilst not cheap, had some first class wines, the St Joseph was excellent.

We were greeted warmly and given seating at the counter in front of the window - which we liked. We both had the specials which were delicious and so filling that we didn’t have room for pudding.
