El Stones, escondido en el centro de la antigua ciudad balneario de Matlock, es un restaurante acogedor que sirve cocina británica moderna con estilo. El interior del restaurante es elegante e íntimo, mientras que la cocina combina productos británicos con recetas inspiradas en la cocina internacional. Los comensales no deben dejarse engañar por la aparente simplicidad de las comidas y cenas de temporada, ya que cada platillo demuestra la imaginación culinaria, la técnica y el estilo del animado equipo de cocina, dirigido por el jefe de cocina Kevin Stone. Interesting, seasonal and local menu. Elegant yet relaxed service, staff friendly, helpful and informative without being intrusive. Lovely surroundings. For us, the fact that the table is yours for the service makes it a very relaxing experience from start to finish. We don't go often, but when we do it's always memorable for all the right reason.

Excellent from start to finish. More expensive that the average, but then again this isn't an average place. Exceptional food. We've booked again

We have eaten in many top restuarants 3 michelin star, this is not our first time to Stones but the meal was as always outstanding. Cooked to perfection the taster menu and the choice of wines chosen to accompany fantastic. Stones in our opinion is equal to anywhere we have eaten in the UK and abroad. Tables are set with taste giving you an all round dining experiance. We will be looking to book again very soon, not leaving it as long this time. Waitress service was excellent with a clear view and explanation what was being presented. well done Stones.

We have never been disappointed when visiting Stines. The staff are lovely and are able to answer any questions. The ambience is pleasant - music in the background is not intrusive. The food is excellent - creative and prepared to perfection. Portions are exactly the right size and presentation is elegant.

Wonderful dining experience, ambience just right, staff attentive and polite. The taster menu was delicious and would thoroughly recommend.

Just as good as ever. We were a little worried after the recent spate of reviews criticising portion sizes. I don't know where those people normally eat, but I'd guess that they always stop on the way home for chips. Portion sizes are normal for a restaurant of this type. I wouldn't have minded an option to add some more veg, but that's a separate matter...
