Stella Van Buren is a fresh take on the Italian-American steakhouse with the flavors of a classic Italian kitchen, modern style, unique design and food that appeals to today’s diner. Slow-cooked meats and flavorful house-made pastas are the traditional comfort-food classics that Italians have been roasting, baking, curing, and making in their own kitchens for generations. Bar service begins at 4pm. Saturday, dinner service at 5pm. Breakfast available Saturday and Sunday from 7am-10am and 6:30am-9:00am Monday thru Friday.

TERRIBLE dining experience. Our waitress was completely incompetent, almost like this was her first time working. Throughout the night she would take orders, and forget to bring the items back to our table. We borrowed utensils and water from other tables, as long periods of time would pass and she would be no where to be found. Keep in mind the restaurant was empty. She asked us if we wanted to see the dessert menu before we had eaten dinner because she forgot she hadn't brought our food out yet. When we finally received and finished our room temperature entrees - our waitress offered us complimentary dessert for all her blunders. After 30 more minutes of waiting we finally walked up to the bartender to ask for our check - we wanted to leave the circus. Of course the "complimentary" desserts were on the bill, and when confronted, the waitress forgot she had offered them. Our family thought we were on a prank show for most of the dinner. Overall the food had potential but because of our forgetful waitress it came out cold. Avoid the truffle pasta, crab cake, and overpriced pork chop. This was supposed to be an enjoyable night celebrating Christmas with our extended family, but it quickly devolved into a gong show of clumsiness - a 3+ hours and $450 later! We will not be coming back here. I rarely write reviews but this was especially disappointing.

Excellent service and great atmosphere! Wish we had a bit more selection for entrees, but the food was amazing!

Stella, inside the Westin in downtown Milwaukee. Spectacular on all levels. Ambiance, service, food, etc.

For the price, I expected a better steak. Ordered a dry aged rib eye and could have sworn we got a strip steak. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but I felt it was extremely overpriced for what you got.

The food was very good, the service was attentive and professional, and the space is really grand. Unfortunately, the hotel was having some construction done in the lobby area, just outside of the restaurant, and it was extremely noisy and disruptive. Quite disappointing when you’re trying to have a conversation.
