Welcome to the Steam Plant Restaurant and Brew Pub! This historical building actually functioned as a steam plant between 1916 and 1986, when the last boiler was shut down in December of that year.

Then years later, the old plant was transformed from a dirty, drab industrial behemoth into a cathedral-bright architectural showcase becoming a functional commercial space while maintaining as much history and equipment as possible within the rigid guidelines of historic renovation. Fortunately, the iconic twin stacks continue to lend a uniqueness to the Spokane skyline.

Since reopening in November 2021, the Steam Plant has partnered with Grain Shed Brewing whose beers are made with regionally sourced ingredients. The bar and dinner menus have been updated to showcase local favorites. Prices range from $11 - 16 for shareable appetizers, soups & salads, handhelds, and pizza; entries range from $18 - 38; and desserts range from $9 - 19 for the Steam Plant Shareable that feeds 4-6 people.

Our server was amazing and the food was fantastic and the whole entire atmosphere was so cool. What an amazing piece of history put to a great use.

We had an excellent time for my wife’s birthday! The food was top notch, the service was great, and the birthday desert- cake and ice cream - was enough for all of us to share! We will definitely come again!

We got very sick after eating here. I’m sure they are not always in this situation. I believe it was the spinach salad. Service was excellent

Great experience. The food and service were outstanding. Be sure to allow time to explore the whole historical site. It is a must for those who love the old turn of the century (1900) machines and robust technology.

Well, have been here several times over the years, but I was quite disappointed by the carnitas tacos. I’ve eaten tacos for probably 50 years, but it has to be the first time I’ve ever had it half filled with plain rice. I mean, come on! $3 per taco with about 25 cents of meat and veggies, and then half-filled with rice? I have to say, a real ripoff.

I was there for my 5 year anniversary with my wonderful fiancé. The staff is excellent and called to confirm my reservation. We got there and got sat immediately at the table we met at. Food was fast and drinks were refilled quickly. And the food was tasty! I highly recommend coming for and special occasion, any occasion where you want a unique atmosphere and great food and fun.

Service and the food was awesome!! This is a really cool restaurant and looking around the old steam plant was very interesting! I highly recommend this resturant.
