Stark's Steakhouse in Santa Rosa, California, is an upscale eatery that takes a modern approach to sustainable seafood and steak. The in-house dry aged meat is served a la carte and guests can also enjoy an extensive menu of international and local wine, creative cocktails and more than 60 whiskeys.

Try the Stark's Steakhouse special roasted bone marrow starter served with truffle honey and sea salt before enjoying a steak with toppers like truffle fried egg, mushroom and onions or blue cheese butter. I feel like Stark’s is somewhat hit or miss. I consider the restaurant to be reserved for a special occasion and hoped that everything would be better than okay. We had a reservation for weeks prior yet were seating right near the door as almost an afterthought. Some of the food was good but the steaks, which is really why we went to Stark’s, were okay. There was a lot of fat on my prime rib so I ended up removing about 1/3 of the serving. The server was friendly but there was too much time between the serving of our appetizers and main courses.

I have dined at Starks Steak and seafood many times, as well as their other restaurants. The food is always consistently delicious. I was a bit disappointed with this visit, the calamari was over cooked, the sauce though was delicious. The lava cake was overdone as well. There was no lava inside and the outside was so hard it could not be eaten.

Only flaw was the bar. 2 bar tenders in a full house. One - I think was a trainee. They saw us - both women but didn’t come over. We waited at least 20 minutes to get a drink before dinner. Then the trainee made the wrong drink for me and did not try to upsell me on the Rye I actually wanted. My wife’s drink came first and she had to wait another 5 minutes for my drink to come so we could toast her birthday. I know, first world problems, but still it is t like it was cheap. Bathrooms were a total mess. The best part was the food and our waiter. Super great guy.

I’ve been enjoying Stark restaurants for a long time. After dinner last night, I’m convinced these people can do no wrong. We thoroughly enjoyed a perfectly paced, non-rushed, luxurious, decadent, near perfect dinner here. For a special occasion in the Santa Rosa area, this is the place! Don’t miss: excellent cocktails, wedge & Caesar salads, prime filet mignon (perfectly cooked), “queen” prime rib, heavenly mashed potatoes and “candied” bacon. The complimentary house baked bread served warm on a pool of garlic butter is insanely great. Service was superb-our waiter was a doppelgänger for Jason Kelce! Thank you Stark family for providing our family with many memorable meals.

We absolutely love Starks. It’s our annual anniversary dinner spot. The food never fails to disappoint and the staff as always kind, professional, and accommodating.

All the food tasted great, and the service was very good. However, two of us has the prime cut of ribeye and two had the choice cut. The two with the prime cut found the meat to be very tasty but also found these cuts to have a fair amount of gristle. This was disappointing considering of the extra cost between choice and prime.

The food is always amazing! The service was excellent as always as well. The noise level definitely can get loud after it begins to fill up but totally worth it for such a good meal!
