I have a hearing impairment, so I’m always concerned that restaurants will be too loud. Although there was some noise in the restaurant, it was not overly loud. We were sitting on the side at the end so that may have helped overall a very enjoyable experience.

We were talked into buying the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to take home. We were looking for the turtle cheesecake. It was our bad we didn’t look at the price until it was delivered… it was $12.00 for a slice!!!! The cheesecake was light and fluffy but had no raspberry flavour at all, the chocolate crumb tasted bitter and didn’t go with the flavour of the cheesecake. It was a 3/10 and the price was ridiculous :(

Food was exceptionally good, house wine was good and it was not too loud. Remember, you go to this restaurant to dine, it will be a 2 hour experience, tables were full and the food was great!👍

Attended the "2 can dine for $49" January promo to celebrate my partner's birthday. Thought we were getting "Happy Hour" pricing on the drinks but that deal only applies for those items posted on the notice board, that is rather hard to reading the darker room conditions. Found $15 for an 8oz glass of Merlot a bit on the pricey side. Cocktail mixes were quite different than the mid-December Christmas specials, especially the Manhattan and Sangria which were excellent back then. The 6 oysters for $12 used to be only a Friday "Happy Hour" special 3-6pm, but now served every weekday and not enough Oysters ordered in so they had run run out by Friday which was disappointing. Waitress was excellent. Very nice ambience.

Always find St. James' Gate to be a great place to eat - and they do a good job of catering to gluten free food as well.

One thing that really stood out to me is that the wait staff all worked together as a team. You could tell that they were there to help each other during service and this really adds an element of cohesiveness for the diners and staff alike. You don’t see this at a lot of establishments anymore, I was very impressed.

Food was very good, staff were great. Only complaint is our Spinach dip was a very small portion and they had no tortilla chips for this gluten free girl. Otherwise would definitely reccomend!

Our group of 11 had a wonderful NYE dinner at St James Gate. The server was lovely, organized and everything felt smooth. We expected some delays in food with a group of our size, but that wasn’t the case at all. Drinks were quick, apps rolled out, mains came and there was no rush to leave. I had the hummus (made in house) which was phenomenal and had the 8oz tenderloin for my main - it was melt in your mouth delicious and I loved the overlap of beets throughout many of the dishes. It was a little hard to hear from one end of the table to the other, but that’s just a sign of a good time. The restaurant, bar and staff were all lovely and we would recommend dining here in a heart beat!
