Spero is the kind of family-owned beach-style eatery that you might find in Corfu Town. The menu includes Greek favourites but goes far beyond as well, with a selection from tzatziki, calamari, spanakopita and Greek meatballs to saganaki grilled cheese or confit lamb shoulder. Spero specialises in the highest quality local produce with a perfect splash of Mediterranean flavours.

    Possibly the worst dining experience we have had ever. We were seated before 6pm and by 8pm we still didn't have all of our meals. We had asked many times to follow up on our food as we had a toddler who was getting very restless after we had been waiting over an hour and half already. We were told each time "it is coming" "it's just been called" and nothing came out for at least another 20 minutes. By the time we approached 2 hours we were told our saganaki was still "coming" Several tables that were seated after us had already had their meals, paid and left. The manager tried to say this was just the flow of the restaurant, which makes no sense when we were seated and ordered almost immediately, given we had a toddler to feed - without any apology at all at this point, we expressed how disappointed we were with the experience.. then we were met with the question "can you let me know why?". Once we explained it in detail she finally apologised. Won't be back.

    The meals were delicious , the portions ample and the service excellent. Good value for money. The service was excellent and we had a great spot by the window looking out over the marina. Was our best evening dining experience of our 4 night stay.

    Excellent service- our waitress was so friendly and very helpful. The food was so delicious with fantastic flavours and fresh ingredients. Would definitely recommend.

    The food is always good, but the service is always poor Waited 45 minutes for a steak. No refill of water or anything offered. It's a well known customer service concept that you solve the issue in the moment. A complementary soft drink or bread whilst we were waiting would have meant this review would be much better. It's not like there's a lack of staff, they just seem to be constantly running around. Also they got rid of a lot of menu items. The BBQ plate was good before but obviously got rid of it so you have to pay more for fries or salad with your souvlaki. Overall, don't come if in a rush. Also if you're hungry you'll spend a lot but it'll be nice food
