We had a fabulous meal of rib eye (cooked perfectly!), crab cakes with the king salmon, also great. We finished with 2 delicious desserts with our new favorite- the Chocolate Espresso- just YUM. Everything was tasty, well prepared and care evident with each dish. The staff attentive and enjoyable. Wine perfect choice as recommended by the staff. Great job!

We had an absolutely stellar dinner experience at South Bend Bistro. The restaurant is intimate with 11 tables and 6 bar seats. The ambience was warm and inviting. We sat at the bar seating area, which had a plus that we got to talk with both of the restaurant's owners. They are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the cuisine and the wine selections. In fact, the entire staff including the kitchen staff were friendly and clearly loved what they do. The food was outstanding. We started with the Harvest Salad, which we shared. It contained butter lettuce, prosciutto, green apple slices, chevre, candied sunflower seeds, and picked red onion, with a maple mustard vinaigrette. Delicious! Then we ordered the duck breast, served with huckleberry demiglace, potatoes pavé, and asparagus with bacon and fennel sauté, and king salmon grilled with mushroom basil risotto, roasted asparagus topped with champagne vinegar shallot glaze with confit lemon. Both plates were outstanding and delicious. The wine-by-the glass list was thoughtful and we enjoyed glasses of 2 different red wines. They considerately offered tastes of several wines so we could make our selections. We will definitely be back!

Dining with friends at the South Bend Bistro was a treat! We all ordered something different—halibut, pork chop, ragout pasta, and chicken breast. Each of us thought theirs was the best! We can’t wait to return to explore more on its special curated menu. Discover this charming gem of a restaurant when you’re looking for a special dining experience!

I have been dining at South Bend Bistro for years! We are locals and love fine dining! Frankly, South Bend Bistro is the absolute best food in the Sunriver area. Their menu has been created over the years to only provide the best of the best. We love the pork chop dinner and the baked brie appetizer. Most importantly I LOVE when the periodically add the Chocolate Pot De Creme dessert! I went there last night and they had an espresso version that was divine. The wine selection is magnificent and at times, we will buy an extra bottle of whatever they are serving because it is so delicious! Culley and David care about their guests and I am a regular that adores this restaurant!!

We visited South Bend Bistro for the first time on a date that happened to be the date that ownership changes follow the employee buy-out. We were greeted at our table with a fantastic glass of champagne. We followed the champagne with an old fashioned and glass of wine - both excellent. We were happy with the choices on the menu and wound up sharing the crab cakes that were the best I can remember. We also shared a cup seafood chowder - another winner! For entrees we chose the Orecchiette as well as the halibut special. Words can not express the feeling experienced in that first bite. The fish was cooked to perfection and had a slight crunch yet exploded with moisture and wonderful seasoning. For dessert my wife had an espresso martini that was also the best we have tasted. I really can’t believe how long we have been going to Sunriver and yet never tried this place, it will now be to go-to for all special occasions! thank you!
