Sol y Sombra has been Dundee’s most popular tapas bar since it opened in 2011. Born out of a love for Spanish food and culture, we have created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas. The aim is to recreate the feel of a typical Spanish family meal, so everyone has to share and enjoy the meal as one.

Really great second visit to Sol y Sombra for a birthday lunch. Apart from the fact that the food was delicious, they were very careful about allergies and intolerances and service was wonderful Sangria, patatas bravas, manchego with quince jam and chocolate mousse tart were all stand out

Great service and food. The staff are truly exceptional and really go out of their way to ensure everything is ok. Food is great and all well explained. We’ll be back!

First time at this restaurant although had walked by on a few occasions. Don’t be put off by the exterior as once inside, everything changes. Intimate, simple decor not cramped and good ambiance. Service was great and the food was good. Pleased that it was a set menu rather than leave us to agonise over what to pick. Next time, we would probably do more veggie. Well priced and enjoyable sangria

Visiting Dundee? You must pop over to Broughty Ferry and tantalize your taste buds at this exquisite authentic Spanish tapas bar! So inviting and welcoming! The cold and/or hot combinations are simply superb, diverse, generous, and a great value! Excellent wine menu, as well. Basque cheesecake is also a must!
