   One of the best sushi places in the city. Fresh and delicious every time. Amazing staff and the owners are fantastic. And they also have a breakfast cafe menu and awesome coffee!

   Very excellent sushi and sashimi. Good value. Tables are spaced for more privacy than many restaurants. Highly recommended!!

   We are so glad we took a chance and visited this lovely place! Food was excellent and so were the staff it was all so good we went out of our way the next morning to come in and try their cafe selections on our way out of town. 10/10 would recommend!

   We’ve been customers for 10+ years, starting when Shijo was in Kensington. The new space in Royal Oak is beautiful. The quality of ingredients is outstanding. Everything is made to order and always perfection. Best sashimi I’ve ever had, with a shoutout to the Hamachi and the Dinosaur Rolls. In the new location, there is also a cafe, where everything is made in house, and delicious! Finished our dinner tonight with an incredible matcha sake tiramisu. Can’t wait to come back and try the brunch dishes!

   @shijocafe.yyc is a cozy Japanese fusion spot located in NW Calgary that offers a delicious mix of traditional and modern Japanese dishes. We had the chance to try some of their specialties, and here’s what we loved! Here’s what we tried and loved: Crispy Rice with Cajun Style Prawn Assorted Sashimi (12pcs) Aburi Salmon Oshi (6pcs) Shijo Special Scallops Roll (6pcs) Iced Houjicha Mocha Houjicha Chocolate Tiramisu Pancake with Matcha Cream The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming vibe, and you can even see the chefs crafting your dishes with precision and care.

    Absolutely the best sushi place in Calgary. Fresh , original , large portions , made with skill and care. The staff are super friendly and attentive. A must place to go for anyone looking for a great meal in the NW. Pro tip. Try their coffee and don’t miss ordering the fried Brussel sprouts and pork belly appy.
