   Wait staff were friendly but service was slow. We arrived at 7:15 and the main course was so late we left around 9:15. Was not clear why there was such a delay. Also main courses were not hot, probably spent time on the pass. Manager was apologetic and waived the charge for the wine.

   I had the octopus entree this time and it was superb. Tender and tasty and a generous serve. The pork neck for mains was exceptional. Tender with a delicious sauce accompanied by great roast potatoes. An excellent lunch with good service and a plentiful drinks menu.

   The staff were very helpful and the venue was great. We sat inside and had a nice view of the ocean. We both had the Gold-band Snapper with steamed greens all was cooked beautifully. The fish was just superb. Highly recommended.

   Amazing setting with beach in the background, breezy and cool. We had the lunch set menu which we felt was very high quality and great value for the standard of food. Every single dish that came out was absolutely amazing. Drinks were also excellent. Recommend their Chilli margarita. Very pleased to have picked Shelter for a celebratory meal. Thanks

   When I browsed the restaurants at Byron Bay during my road trip, the star ratings is quite high, that was the reason why I chose this restaurant. Awesome, I made the right choice! The view was stunning, the ambience was comfortable, and we were welcomed with staff who always had a smiling. The food : appetizers were so good and delicious! Especially the oysters and tuna, but my hubby and son thought that the ginger on top of the oysters could be less in order not to cover the freshness of the oysters. The seasonings of the tuna were perfect! We all loved it. It is worth to go there when you go to Byron Bay to have nice view and good food!

   We enjoyed a lunch today (1/2/25) and the food was amazing, from the in-house baked sour dough, Lebanese cucumber & coconut labneh, heirloom tomato salad to the absolutely amazing golden snapper, coconut curry dish, i would highly recommend Shelter to anyone who appreciates great and healthy food...

    Gorgeous food and a location to die for. The perfect long lunch. Do not sleep on the vegetable dishes - they are just as amazing as the proteins.
