    Selden Standard’s fare features flavors born in local farms, captured at the peak of the season, prepared in their wood-fired oven, and served small plates-style in shareable portions. Complementing the menu are wines from small producers, distinctive brews, and cocktails to suit the seasons. Selden is rustic and casual, but with an ever-present eye for quality, creativity, and fun. Chef Andy Hollyday is a 2023 James Beard finalist and four-time semi-finalist. Selden Standard was named a semi-finalist for Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation (2024), and has been named Restaurant of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press (2015) and Hour Detroit (2016).

    Needed a pause between work and going home… This was the perfect solution… Sat near the grillmaster by the wood-burning grill and stove and the ambience was incredible! Wait Staff is very knowledgeable, and made the dinner experience absolutely everything!

    Amazing food and outstanding service! The dishes were shareable and allowed everyone to sample a variety of unique and exciting options. We will definitely be coming back again very soon!

    Seldan Standard is one of our favorite dining spots. Our dinner experience was wonderful. Our meal, as always, was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the Blackend Walleye, which was exceptional and beautifully complimented by the Roasted Carrots and Sweet Potato Agnolotti. The service we received was also outstanding.

    Male waiter with beard was super annoying and kept reaching over us all through dinner. Stepped on my toes four times. Not a really enjoyable night at Selden Standard. Pushy personality and wanted to force his way with the customer. I would not return if he was the waiter.

    The food was exquisite and everything you expect from an excellent restaurant. Fresh ingredients with lovely flavor combinations.  And the service was a match. Only complaint is for my personal taste the music was a little loud.
