Enjoy a night of fine wine, mixologist made cocktails and elevated comfort food at a locally owned casual fine dining restaurant in the Shops of Prairie Village. From humble beginnings as a small catering company we have transformed into a one-of-a-kind small boutique restaurant that provides a private and intimate dining experience focused on the food at the table and personal interactions with our team. Come experience the culinary expertise of Chef Taylor Hindman alongside 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine program featuring more than 165 unique wine selections curated by our owner Tyler Morrison.

Scratch is a small gem of a restaurant that provides a surprise and delight as we continue to grow. Since our opening in 2021, Scratch has been awarded Best New Restaurant in Johnson County in 2022 by The Shawnee Mission Post, 2023 Best Caterer in Johnson County, Finalist for Best New Restaurant by KC Magazine, and 2023 Yelp's "People Love Us".

Meg and Matt were friendly and accommodating-TJ was a great server. The food was delicious. I was a little disappointed in the bruschetta because it was not the same as it had been in past but the rest of the food was FABULOUS! We look forward to going back again.

For the total cost ($275 for 2) the elements were not even close to other restaurants in the area. There were many really cool parts to our experience but overall it missed the mark.

We loved that Scratch had small plates and salads as well as entres. We ate outside so the noise level was perfect. The risotto was ordered by three of the four of us and all loved it. Al in all, a great experience!

Very small dining room made for a louder experience. Food was great but we didn’t love the tiny table we were at. Will probably come back when the weather is nice and sit outside next time.

We loved this restaurant and we are big foodies and this restaurant rings all the bells; super staff friendly and helpful and the food is amazing with a great wine list. A “must” for anyone who wants it all!

The staff was extremely knowable and caring when I had questions/concerns about avoiding certain ingredients. Everything was extremely tasty as always and we were able to enjoy the new fall menu.

This was our first time to Scratch. The food was delicious—a fresh and innovative but comforting seasonal menu, and the service was excellent (attentive, personable, but not intrusive). The atmosphere was sophisticated and quiet enough for conversation ( a sought-out rarity in the noisy, crowded dining trend that many other fine dining establishments have fallen prey too). This restaurant is a gem, and my husband and I look forward to dining there again soon.

Our service was incredible. Our server was helpful, funny and on top of it. Food was fabulous. Highly recommend the Bacon Date app and Chicken Roulade entree.
