Sushi master Ryuichi Nakano casts a wide net at SanKai, drawing longtime fans and welcoming newcomers to his intimate new sushi restaurant in the heart of downtown Edmonds. Enjoy our cozy dining room, omakase sushi bar, or heated outside dining in our domes.

Please note we are a small restaurant and children (babies) need to me accounted for in your reservation if you need seating/highchair. Stroller space is limited and may not always be accommodated.

Enjoy dining in our heated outdoor domes. Each dome is heated, fully covered and comfortably seats up to five people. Please note, no pets are allowed in the domes. *Please note, we have an intimate dining room with limited seating and kindly ask that you respect the following time limits: 1 hour 45 minutes for parties of up to two; 2 hours for parties of three or more. **Although our domes our heated in the wintertime, it can still get chilly when temperatures drop! Feel free to bring a jacket or blanket to help keep you warm and cozy.

We eat here regularly, and the food and service are always outstanding. The food is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented. Even people who don’t normally take pictures of their food will be tempted to do so here. Our server made the experience even more special. She was friendly and attentive and kind. we will return soon.

We had such a lovely experience! Our server was knowledgeable and pointed out many things we didn't notice, some of which ended up being our favorite choices if the night! We arrived about ten minutes early and she happily offered us the happy hour menu to get things started though it was about to end in 10 minutes. We appreciated that effort. We had the fun experience of being in one of the pods which was warm and a great date night set up. We tried all of our personal favorites and then variations of the same fish from different countries. What a cool opportunity! Thanks San-Kai! We'll be back for sure!

The food and Yoko (server) were excellent. Definite go to sushi in PNW.

We booked an outside “bubble”. It was great. There was a little heater and a Sonos speaker with quiet music. We were able to visit and enjoy a wonderful food and wine for a relaxed evening. Emily was the best server! She was attentive, helpful, and made sure we had our “bubble” for the whole evening as we were celebrating some birthdays. We even got birthday mochi! Delicious!

We have gotten food to go from SanKai before, but hadn't actually eaten there so it was nice to get to experience it all! We ate in one of the domes, which was really cool (although they do need a cleaning on the outside and had a slight musty smell at first, but we weren't bothered). It was warm enough and the service was excellent even though we were so separate from the restaurant. The food was so great as usual, and we really enjoyed the drinks as well. We loved the whole experience and will be back again to eat in person!

I had to blink my eyes while in Edmonds to remind myself I wasn't in Japan. If you like mayo all over your "California roll," don't go here. But if you love incredible sushi, get your a$$ here asap. It's so great.

Our personal sushi chef was knowledgeable, skilled and provided me with the best omakase I've had. My wife had a variety of dishes, all of which she raved about. Will return again and again.
