Opening our doors in 1993, Salmon Dave’s has proudly endured as one of Greater Cleveland’s favorite local haunts. With an informal approach to upscale dining, our cozy neighborhood spot has gained a legendary reputation. After a recent head-to-toe renovation, Rocky River’s favorite restaurant is better than ever. The timeless character of the historic building lives on with distressed brick walls, crown moldings, and its signature mahogany bar.     We ended up sitting at the bar on Christmas Eve and Tracy did an excellent job serving us. The drinks were delicious. The bread isn't as good as it used to be and also the butter. This bread is rather dry and hard and we miss the honey butter. We ordered the twin filets with fingerling potatoes and succotash. It had some strange smokey tomato sauce for the steak. We were slightly dissappointed with the meal. I was glad I asked for a side of bearnaise sauce but that was real thick too. Usually we love any of the food there but nothing was seasoned enough. The potatoes weren't good because it was just fingerling potatoes with so flavor to them. The succotash was just a corn relish. We will come back in the future but not for a good steak like we wanted to treat ourselves with for the holiday. So sorry for the bad review.

    We arrived early for happy hour in the bar area before our dining room reservation, which was first come first serve. We helped ourselves to an open table only to be kicked out by the hostess telling us it was reserved. There was no reservation sign on the table and before the hostess said we can go anywhere in the bar we’d like. We were told we had to wait for a seat to be served the happy hour items yet could not request a table. The hostess was very rude and said “I don’t know what to tell you”. When it was time to be seated for our dining reservation we waited 15 min before our server came over to us and give us water. We waited 30 min before our server took our order. Our water was not refilled until we asked AFTER WE GOT OUR CHECK. Food was meh for the price. Service was one of the worst we have seen for such a “nicer” restaurant in the area. Server was not attentive at all. Very disappointed. Won’t be back.

    Fantastic. Had Salmon which was beautifully made. Others had lobster, really liked. Service exceptional.

    This was our first time at Salmon Dave’s and our meals were delicious! Service was fantastic. The Christmas decorations were so nice. Will definitely go back again!

    Friendly service was matched with excellent seafood at very reasonable prices! From this point forward I will be tempted to go to Sam & Dave’s for my Mitchell’s Ice Creams. The price is the same at both !

    I’ve eaten at this restaurant for many years and I would say about 85% of the time — it’s good. The other 15% is either hit or miss; food is cold… too much salad dressing … bread is stale, etc.
