Relaxed fine dining with historic ambience and Mission décor for elevated American fare with California, French and Mediterranean flair. The imaginative menu changes with the season to include vegetables and herbs from our own garden in addition to eco-sustainable fish, vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options, many of which are organic and sourced locally from small growers and farmers through our local CSA (Community Sourced Agriculture). Outdoor dining under a pergola-covered terrace overlooking the gardens during the summer months or when weather permits.

Just walking into the hotels charming lobby was wonderful, although the restaurant room was not so charming. The server was excellent and personable, the food excellent.

Very good & fresh food in a historic hotel at the base of Mt. Shasta. It was so good the first night, we returned on our second night there. Sydney, our waitress, was delightful.

Our first visit to Sage was a pleasant one. A very small intimate dining area in a romantic setting near the lobby of the McCloud Hotel. The food was gourmet. The service was fast and friendly. A very enjoyable time. We would definitely recommend it for special occasions. Reservations advised for high season as seating is limited.

The food was wonderful and excellent service! The waitress selected a great wine to compliment our dinner. Love the proximity of the dining to our room.

The Sage is a jewel in the beautiful, quaint but tiny town of McCloud. The hotel is wonderful but a significant reason for staying there is the chef and service at the Sage

Between four of us, we had char (served with vegetables and roasted kale), duck, celery soup, Caesar salad, lava cake, sorbet, and some sort of French dessert (pot of chocolate, or some such thing). All the dishes were presented well and tasted great. The char and the pot of chocolate were especially outstanding. The service was excellent. The only problem was that hardly anyone was there on a Sunday night. This place is a McCloud gem waiting to be discovered. It is well worth a drive. The wine menu is also excellent. The ambiance is quaint and charming.

Everything was amazing, the food, the service, the atmosphere. Best dinner out I’ve had in a very long time! CAN’T WAIT to go back!

Have made the trip from Mt. Shasta to McCloud a couple of times now and never disappointed. Great food and service--never feel rushed.

Absolutely wonderful dinner! The Artic Char was superb. My wife’s fish was also excellent. We were staying at the McCloud hotel and made reservations at the Sage as it was convenient. We were very pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant a real gourmet experience. We’ll make plans to dine there again.
