El Rowley's, situado en la sede original de la carnicería Walls, en la legendaria calle Jermyn, mantiene vivo el encanto y la historia del edificio del siglo XIX que ocupa. El restaurante ha preservado los azulejos originales que cubren las paredes y cuenta con una iluminación tenue, que crea un ambiente relajado y confortable. El establecimiento ofrece un menú temático británico que cambia regularmente, pero siempre incluye el famoso filete de entrecote y la salsa secreta con mantequilla de hierbas que se mantiene caliente en la mesa gracias a un quemador. El platillo va acompañado de todas las papas fritas que se deseen. El restaurante es ideal para almuerzos de negocios y para comer antes de una función de teatro.

Great service from the moment we walked in the door, very nice meal and the steaks were excellent. Sticky Toffee pudding to follow always a favourite.

This was our first time dining here at it won’t be our last. The steaks were delicious as were the fries. Good friendly service

They need to sought out the draughty door -which also doesn’t close properly. A semi-circular velvet curtain would also be an improvement. Failing this do not sit near the door - a shame because the back of the restaurant is not so inviting. The sides are overpriced at £8 for a few green beans. I had the daily special - a lemon sole which was delicious- if swimming in a bit too much butter. Considering this was £42 this should have come with chips as the steak dishes do.

We ordered 2 different types of steak, cooked two different ways. When they arrived, they looked exactly the same in every way. Sirloin v ribeye. I mentioned this to the waiter , who said they were different cuts, but that they were the wrong way round, so we switched identical steaks. The salad I ordered was wrong, so had to be changed. Service - nice lady server. Others a bit to chummy. Disappointing meal - I wouldn’t go back.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner very good food well and cheerfully served. Not that cheap but it is Central London! We will be back.
